Whilst travelling with aid organisations for a number of years, I've always been pondering a few ideas which could make up a larger project like a feature documentary. In 2014 one of those ideas is beginning to take shape - get in touch if you'd like to contribute or get a copy of the full proposal, here's a quick glimpse:
In 2013, it’s estimated more than 1 million people died from conflict. 11% of the world’s gross product was spent on violence containment and incidents of global conflict are estimated to have risen 5% in the last five years. We have more methods of communication, more technologies, more research, more resolution techniques, so why then is conflict increasing and why are we finding ways to overlook the logic of peace in favour of instability?
CONFLICT is an exploration of the core reasons for human conflict, racism and social prejudice; exploring the varied individual causes for conflict whilst taking a deeper look at how our evolutionary roots in group behaviour create the perfect breeding ground for prejudice.
I'm very open to collaboration and input so get in touch if you'd like to find out more or download the full proposal PDF. The current plan is to starting shooting midway through 2014,
