HSV Cameron Smith and Greg Murphy (2014)

Role: Director, Edit, Colour grade

Agency: Hotglue

In one of the most anticipated shoots of the year, we somehow convinced HSV that it was a good idea to play a prank on one of the toughest rugby players of all time - dressing up V8 Supercar driver Greg Murphy as a bogan driver in disguise.   Some nervous days in the lead up to the shoot and everyone had to play it cool on the day, but the final result was definitely worth it.  And luckily for us - Cam Smith didn't break Greg's nose.  Or any of ours.

Campaign: Garth Tander Driven By Racing

After the first video about HSV ambassador Joel Parkinson, the next in the "Driven" series was to feature V8 supercar driver Garth Tander who drives for the Holden racing team.  We had worked with Garth many times over the years, but this was a great chance to sit down with him and really discuss why he's so hooked on racing, and just how much of his life it consumes.  In fact the initial title for the piece was "Driven by Racing," as you'll find out, all aspects of Garth's life are built around motorsport.

Case Study: Automotive

The Holden account and it's partner brands have been part of my working landscape since my first job out of uni as a graduate designer.  A few years later I moved into the full time roll of creative lead on the digital account, responsible for all digital marketing and the buzz word stuff like 'multi-platform' launch campaigns.  After leaving Visual Jazz in 2010 to pursue video production, I eventually ended up back on the red lion as the freelance Creative director at Melbourne production agency Hot Glue.  The role has covered anything from launch campaigns, directing TV ads and branded content, also encompassing Holden Special Vehicles and the Holden Racing Team.

Campaign: HRT 2015 Launch

For the launch of the 2015 Holden Racing team season, we were briefed on creating a "Brand Mantra" video to kick off the season.  The brief was to celebrate the fans on the 25th anniversary of the team, so I travelled with producer Matt Hearn to visit some of their most committed fans around Australia, and ask them what they loved most about Australia's oldest V8 race team.  What I enjoyed seeing most was the sense of community they drew from their passion for the team.
